3 things thursday.

1. Back in March, when I was struggling with a bit of tendonitis in my foot, a good friend/PT suggested I try a pair of narrow running shoes. APPARENTLY, you shouldn't be able to slip your heel out of your running shoes when they are all laced up...who knew??

I was desperate for a quick cure (ya right), so I ran to the closest running stores and snatched up a pair of Brooks Defyance. It took a few weeks to get used to the new fit (they were SO different!), but once I was used to them, I never gave it a second thought. Since then, I have been rotating them through my Brooks-addicted shoe line-up, and have started to prefer the narrows. Well, the time has come for them to replaced, but I'm having trouble biting the bullet and ordering online for no reason at all except all the sudden I've decided I online shop too much. Why do I have so much trouble just trusting what works and order the damn things? I have no trouble dropping the cash on leopard print.

2. Tonight I did an easy 3 on the treadmill. Every time I run on the treadmill I remember how much I actually like it. Sounds strange, but it slows me down. I almost never run on the treadmill faster than a 10:00 minute mile (actually usually a 10:31 or whatever 5.8mph is at a 1% incline). I think doing my recovery/easy miles on the treadmill tends to keep me healthy because I just plod along and watch TV or listen to podcasts, and you know, actually let my body recover. I need to remember this.

3. I'm going to order my new shoes now, dammit. And maybe a pair of Launch because they have pretty purple soles and are the most comfortable shoes I ever worn (but don't come in narrow...booooo woe is me).

...This has been a shoe-centric 3tt, brought to you by my love of shoes :)

  2. I'm sorry, there's no such thing as too much online shopping. Or too many shoes.

If it makes you feel any better, I ordered a new pair of Newtons yesterday...

  3. I think I've purchased/received 5 new pairs of running shoes in the past month. I have a problem.
