Not-Wordless-Wednesday

I was all about to just post a wordless pic of my potential new *FRONT DOOR* and *FRONT PORCH* but I (smartly) got all weird-ed out that I was posting basically a picture of my potential new address, so I didn't. I mean, someone would have to work really hard to match up a random picture of a front door to an address, and if someone goes to all that trouble, then, hey, maybe they DESERVE to figure out where I *may* be moving and come and steal me.....but no pics for now.

Good news is that as long as I can convince the man-friend, we may have just found *EXACTLY* what we (I) am looking for.

A quick rundown:

Large, updated Kitchen
Loads and loads of storage and space to grow
Gas cooking (must have)
(partially) Finished Basement
BIKE ROOM (ok, so to most people this would probably be a weird, too-large Laundry room, but to us, it's perfect for 4+ bikes, trainers, gear crap, mess, yay!)
2 bathrooms (oh the joy!)
BACKYARD! The entire space is a brick/paver patio, which means, no maintenance!
Lots and lots of closets. Including a coat closet, which is something in all my adult years I have wanted.
Same neighborhood.Which means trainer parties can continue.

There are definitely some negatives. That I am clearly coming up with every excuse in the book to make the man-friend fork over the deposit check so I can start decorating in my mind.

-Old, small bathrooms (but there are 2!)
-Cost of utilities (it's a house, very different than apartment living, but current renter gave us a very reasonable estimate, assuming she's being honest AND all the windows are new in the last few years I think)
-Street parking (but there was lots last night)

Things we forgot to check: Water pressure, outlet location (our current place has no outlet in the bathroom....ya, don't ask).

Obviously, in my mind, the pros outweigh the cons, but I think the scariest thing is the unknown. Renting a (town)house is really different than renting in a cookie-cutter apartment complex, and I think we are both scared of the cons we wouldn't even know to think about. What are we missing? Anything?

  1. You had me at bike room. Also, awesome kitchen. Those are the only two things in life that I need.

I'm so so far from considering living in a house, so I'm zero help here other than to say that it sounds great, do it!
